Alexander Soukas, M.D., Ph.D. (MGH/Broad, Diabetes Unit) works on genetic mechanisms of aging, obesity, and diabetes. His laboratory, in the Center for Genomic Medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital, studies fundamental genetic underpinnings for aging and aging-related diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and cancer, in hopes of pinpointing novel therapeutic targets. We use genetic approaches from human to mouse to worm to uncover the mysteries of aging and aging-associated diseases. Our work informs the next generation of therapies aimed at promoting health in humans. For more information visit www.soukas.org.
