Genetic determinants of diabetic kidney disease

As part of the JDRF-funded Diabetic Nephropathy Collaborative Research Initiative (DNCRI) and Genetics of Nephropathy – an International Effort (GENIE) consortia, we aim to elucidate the underlying genetic architecture of diabetic kidney disease (DKD) by conducting the largest DKD GWAS in individuals with type 1 diabetes to date. This work will lay the foundation for extensive computational and functional follow-up analyses to better understand pathophysiology of disease.
